Two flat-roof systems for ecological electricity grid operator naturenergie netze GmbH
novotegra and retec merz GmbH have jointly realised a showcase project with the new flat roof system III Long Side.

Setting the scene
naturenergie netze GmbH has invested in a new site in Donaueschingen, Germany, where the criteria of climate neutrality, innovation and functionality are of the highest priority. In order to achieve CO₂ neutrality, the grid operator has set itself the goal of generating all the electrical energy required at the site using its own PV systems.
Meeting the challenges
Two flat roofs were available - on the warehouse/workshop building and on the office building. The experienced installation company retec merz GmbH was responsible for planning and implementation and chose novotegra as its mounting system partner.
Due to the high snow load that the modules have to bear in the region, the flat roof mounting system III Long Side in east-west orientation was chosen. Here, the module is clamped in the optimum area of the long side of the frame and is therefore ideal for maximum snow loads.
The two PV systems, including scaffolding, substructure, cabling and over 700 modules, were installed in just under three weeks.
The result
After completion, the two PV systems on the warehouse and office building now have a combined output of impressive 315.95 kWp. naturenergie netze GmbH has taken a major step towards its goal of creating an efficient, future-oriented location for system-relevant infrastructure in the Donaueschingen region. The installers from retec merz are also highly satisfied and are already planning follow-up projects with novotegra.
