Roof-mounted solar lets Hermann Jürgens shine
Flat commercial roofs, that are hundreds of square metres in size, are perfect for rooftop PV. We helped a German firm make moves towards energy independence.
Lippstadt, Germany
Setting the scene
German construction and engineering firm, Hermann Jürgens, are taking big steps forward with their sustainability agenda. Their premises at Lippstadt, a 336m2 facility, targeted the highest possible degree of energy self-sufficiency for a commercial property. The site’s large, easily accessible roof made it an ideal candidate for rooftop PV.
Meeting the challenges
The business owner opted to use his own team to install the modules. novotegra and Solar-Planit let them plan and implement the project fast.
The result
The Lippstadt site now produces 45kWp per year. As part of a wider sustainability strategy, the project demonstrates the commercial sector’s enthusiasm in the fight against climate change.
“Hermann Jürgens is taking serious responsibility for their own climate contributions with this project. We expect more companies to take this kind of active role more often in future."
