PV between the peaks

379.8 kWp for two industrial companies in the Swiss canton of Uri

In Erstfeld, the largest PV system in the canton was installed on the roof of Ziegler Recycling AG. The project used the novotegra clamp system with short rails.

Setting the scene

Two industrial companies, one shared vision: more energy independence through photovoltaics. Ziegler Recycling AG and Thermotec 2000 AG wanted to meet their energy needs more sustainably and benefit from a high-performance PV system together.

Meeting the challenges

The challenge? A PV system that not only maximizes self-consumption, but can also be installed without disrupting ongoing operations.

Here, the novotegra clamp system for trapezoidal sheet roofs proved to be a key advantage. With just five components, it allowed for fast and easy installation. The scale of the project is impressive: 882 PV modules across 1,500 m² of roof surface generate around 300,000 kWh of solar power annually.

Result

The system delivers an impressive 379.8 kWp and achieves a self-consumption rate of 80% – an exceptional figure for industrial facilities. Especially efficient: since Thermotec 2000 AG's machines are usually idle on weekends, the generated solar power can be used optimally via the joint self-consumption model (ZEV). Thanks to this model, both companies benefit from lower energy costs, sustainable electricity supply, and future-proof infrastructure.
