Setting the scene

Located on the scenic Eninger Weide above Eningen, Germany, the Wanderheim Eninger Weide (Hans-Schenk-Haus) has been welcoming hikers, cyclists, families, and groups for decades. The lodge offers catering, accommodation, event spaces, and serves as an important destination for outdoor enthusiasts exploring the Swabian Alb.

To support its commitment to sustainable operations, a 12.9 kWp photovoltaic system was installed on the building's standing seam metal roof. The novotegra clamping system for standing seam roofs provided the ideal solution for a secure, roof-friendly installation without roof penetration.

Meeting the challenges

As a well-known destination surrounded by nature, the Wanderheim required a photovoltaic solution that combined reliable performance with a discreet appearance. The installation needed to preserve both the functionality and visual character of the building while ensuring long-term durability under changing weather conditions on the Alb plateau.

The novotegra mounting system met these requirements perfectly, enabling a fast and secure installation directly on the roof seams while maintaining the integrity of the existing roof structure.

The result

The 12.9 kWp solar installation now generates clean electricity directly on-site, helping power the day-to-day operations of the Wanderheim. The renewable energy supports kitchen facilities, guest accommodation, common areas, and other services essential to welcoming visitors throughout the year.

By producing sustainable energy where it is consumed, the project contributes to lower operating costs and a reduced environmental footprint while supporting the Wanderheim's role as a valued destination in the Swabian Alb.

“The photovoltaic system allows us to combine hospitality and sustainability. Clean energy generated directly on-site helps support the daily operation of our Wanderheim while making responsible use of available roof space.”
