Setting the scene

The municipal works yard in Eningen, Germany, took a further step toward sustainable energy generation by installing a photovoltaic system on the standing seam metal roof of one of its buildings. With an installed capacity of 29.7 kWp, the system makes effective use of the available roof space while contributing to the municipality’s environmental goals.

Municipal works yards require significant amounts of electricity for daily operations, including powering workshops, maintenance equipment, administrative offices, charging battery-powered tools, and supporting municipal vehicle fleets. To ensure a secure and roof-friendly installation, the novotegra clamping system for standing seam metal roofs was selected.

Meeting the challenges

The project required a mounting solution that could be installed efficiently while preserving the integrity of the existing roof structure. Standing seam metal roofs demand a reliable fastening method that provides long-term stability without the need for roof penetrations.

The novotegra clamping system met these requirements perfectly. By attaching directly to the roof seams, the system enabled a fast and secure installation while ensuring the durability and weather resistance of the roof remained uncompromised.

The result

The photovoltaic system with an output of 29.7 kWp was successfully installed and now generates clean electricity directly on-site. The renewable energy produced supports the daily operations of the municipal works yard and helps reduce reliance on externally sourced electricity.
