Setting the scene

In Venlo, Netherlands, the logistics company Seacon Logistics wanted to use the large free area on the flat roof of the logistics centre to generate electricity. The sustainably generated electricity was to be used 100% by the company itself. The ambitious and future-orientated project became a prime example of successful cooperation between different stakeholders.

Meeting the challenges

The team of installers from HMB GmbH and their colleagues from BayWa r.e. and novotegra, who were involved in the planning, were faced with two challenges: Firstly, the project had to take into account the future retrofitting of a battery storage unit, which required detailed planning and expert execution.

Secondly, the modules to be installed were very large at 2.28 metres in length, meaning that they had to be clamped on the long side of the module. The new Flat Roof III Long Side mounting system was therefore used, which is also suitable for modules up to a length of 2.60 metres thanks to the clamping in the optimum area of the long side of the frame.

The result

The project was a great success thanks to the professional realisation by HMB GmbH and the joint efforts of the people involved. Using the Solar-Planit planning software, the PV system was completed within six months and now delivers powerful 954.75 kWp. This project shows how effective teamwork and competent project management can lead to impressive results.
