A 850 kWp east-west PV system brings new energy independence to the production
IMS Gear now generates sustainable energy for self-sufficiency with a 850 kWp east-west PV system mounted on its flat roof, planned using Solar-Planit and supported by novotegra.

Setting the scene
IMS Gear aimed to further expand its in-house electricity generation and integrate renewable energy more into everyday operations. The large flat roof of the factory building provided ideal conditions for the installation of a high‑performance photovoltaic system.
In the future, part of the production would be powered by clean photovoltaic energy. At the same time, ongoing operations were not to be affected at any point – neither production processes nor employee parking facilities.
By opting for an 800 kWp PV system and working together with retec merz, as well as using the novotegra mounting substructure, IMS Gear chose a concept that combines sustainability, efficiency and maximum operational safety.
Meeting the challenges
The main challenge was installing the PV system without disrupting ongoing operations. Production processes had to continue without restriction, while ensuring safe and efficient installation on the flat roof.

Within a very short time, the 850 kWp PV system was successfully installed on the flat roof – without interrupting operations.
The result is a powerful and sustainable energy source that enables IMS Gear to run parts of its production on clean solar energy while reducing energy costs in the long term.
The combination of intelligent planning, efficient implementation and high‑quality mounting technology makes this project a showcase example of modern industrial PV solutions.
