Efficient cooling thanks to a PV facade solution for Brewery Schimpf

To meet the brewery's high energy demand due to cooling systems, Koehrer Solar installed a 26.4 kWp solar facade solution. The project took a total of seven days and resulted in an aesthetically pleasing solution.

Setting the scene

The Schimpf brewery in Remmingsheim was facing a unique challenge: its high energy demand, caused in particular by its energy-intensive cooling systems, was a significant cost factor. To reduce costs and shrink the company's carbon footprint, the brewery decided to install a solar energy system on the building facade and commissioned Koehrer Solar to do the installation.

Meeting the challenges

Koehler Solar chose the facade insertion system with mounting base from novotegra, which is suitable for solid exterior walls. The system ensures good rear ventilation, makes optimal use of the available space and at the same time contributes to the aesthetics of the building.

It was the first project for the company using this mounting system. The planning time of almost three months paid off with the successful installation of the system within seven days.

The result

The installation of the 26.4 kWp solar system on an area of approx. 60-70 m² went smoothly. The brewery is now able to cover a large part of its energy needs itself, which not only significantly reduces operating costs but also makes an important contribution to the environment. Thanks to the experience gained with the new facade system, Koehrer Solar is well prepared for future facade projects.
